About

Smart farmer is one farm managers practical solution to the industry requirement to carry out pre-start checks on farm machinery.

Smart Farmer

Currently we're expected to maintain paper records of checks which is simply not practical - the sheets can become lost or worn and there's no real way of knowing how accurate they are, if they record an issue how long will it be before the message is passed to the right person, the list goes on.
Marc Skivington had become frustrated by the lack of a practical solution to the problem and decided to pursue his idea of building a mobile phone app that makes the recording and reporting on the state of his machinery easy to use and understand.
Smart-Farmer is a mobile and web based application that allows you and your workers to record pre start checks on your machinery, recording the results online so they can be immediately shared across the farm. Previous checks are presented to the user so they know the current state of the machine Our unique traffic light system gives an immediate visual indicator on the machine's status.
Anyone unfortunate enough to have been involved in an accident of any degree will know the first thing the Police and insurers will want to know is have you done your pre start checks? Can you prove it? How well is your machine maintained? Are you to blame for this accident? Smart Farmer gives you an easy to use way of ensuring the safe working use of your machinery, providing a safer environment for your workers and a more assured workplace.
Checks are logged on each use by the workers. Farm managers and assigned system administrators can with just a few clicks get detailed reports on the status of machinery. Which machines are in use today and by who, are there any red flag items requiring attention before the machine can be used.
Smart Farmers long term goal is to contribute to the adoption of better health and safety practices in the industry. Recording your pre start checks is a good start on that path
